[Softball] Cal Pac Softball Tourney Field Set

Top-seeded Simpson will face #4 La Sierra, and #2 Marymount California will tangle with #3 Benedictine-Mesa when the California Pacific Conference softball tournament opens on Thursday, May 4, in Redding, Calif. 

SU raced to a record-best 19-1 league mark and won the conference regular season title for the sixth year in a row.  The Red Hawks are looking to advance to their sixth consecutive NAIA national tournament.  La Sierra won a tiebreaker over Antelope Valley to gain the fourth seed. LSU split the season series with UAV, but was the only Cal Pac team to dent Simpson's record--a 2-1 win on April 9.  In fact, the Golden Eagles played three one-run games with the Red Hawks.

MCU is one game ahead of BenU and hosts the Redhawks in a four-game series on April 29-30. Regardless of that series' outcome, the Mariners and Redhawks will play the Cal Pac tournament's second game on May 4.

The tournament continues with two semifinal games Friday, May 5. The championship game will take place on Saturday, May 6, unless LSU advances. Then the games will be played on Sunday, May 7.
