Singapore narrowly missed defending their gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, falling to the Philippines in the final. Nevertheless, the points earned at the event allowed them to move into tenth place in the ranking. A regular presence at international competitions and a steadily growing force on the global stage, Singapore have climbed from No. 22 to No. 10 over the past seven years.

Their SEA Games rivals, the Philippines, gained two positions following their gold-medal performance and will begin 2026 ranked No. 17 in the world.

Only one other change occurred within the top 10, as Mexico overtook Czechia to move into eighth place, equalling their best position ever. The top seven programmes remain unchanged, with Japan, Venezuela, Argentina, Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand continuing to lead the global men’s softball rankings.

The Central American Games awarded significant ranking points to teams from the region. Gold medallists Guatemala consolidated their position at No. 12 in the world. Panama’s silver-medal finish lifted them from No. 24 to No. 22, while Honduras climbed one spot to No. 24 following their bronze medal. Costa Rica (No. 28), Nicaragua (No. 31) and Belize (No. 37) also improved their positions.

For Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, these represent the highest rankings ever achieved.
