Australia, New Zealand open U-18 women's softball four-game series in Brisbane
World No. 10 Australia is hosting No. 26 New Zealand in a four-game U-18 women’s softball international series in Brisbane. The series runs through Sunday, 21 December, at the Redland Softball Association, located just outside Brisbane.
The Junior White Sox started their Australian tour last week participating in the Opening Round of the U-23 Women's Softball National Championship, where they collected a 2-4 record. Their Australian counterpart also participated in this event, posting a 3-3 mark. However, they didn't face each other in the competition.
In Game 1 of the international series, New Zealand defeated Australia, 8-0, on Friday night. Both teams will be back on the diamond on Saturday for a doubleheader at 18:30 and 21 (local time), and will close the series with a final game on Sunday at 9 am.
Australia and New Zealand will meet again next month when their senior women’s national teams compete in the newly announced Softball Australia Cup, scheduled for 29 January to 1 February 2026 in Brisbane. World No. 1 Japan will also take part in the three-team international tournament.
