Gauteng sweeps men's, women's Softball National School Championships in South Africa

The South African National School Championships concluded on 14 December 2025 at the Red Sox Baseball and Softball Diamonds in Kempton Park, with Gauteng province capturing both the women’s and men’s U-17 softball titles in dominant fashion.

Women’s Division

Following the round-robin stage, four teams advanced to the playoffs. Gauteng secured the No. 1 seed, while Western Cape finished second. KwaZulu Natal and Limpopo placed third and fourth respectively, setting up a closely contested opening playoff matchup.

KwaZulu Natal edged Limpopo 6–5 to keep their championship hopes alive and carried that momentum into the semifinal, defeating Western Cape 13–8. However, Gauteng proved too strong in the final, delivering a decisive 10–3 victory to claim the women’s championship.

Men’s Division

Gauteng also topped the round-robin standings in the men’s competition, followed by Western Cape, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.

Limpopo opened the playoffs with a 9–4 win over Mpumalanga before falling to Western Cape in a high-scoring semifinal, 14–10. In the championship game, Gauteng showcased their strength, shutting out Western Cape 10–0 to secure a clean sweep of both titles.
