Zurich hosts Swiss Baseball Softball Federation Awards Night

WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari opened the Swiss Baseball Softball Federation (SBSF) Awards Night at Lake Side in Zurich and presented a WBSC plaque to SBSF President Andrea Girasole.

Ferlon Gisbertha (Therwil Flyers) earned the Baseball National League (NLA) MVP, Playoff MVP and Best Pitcher's honours, while Camden Vasquez (Zurich Barracudas) was the Leading Batter.

Mariah Jameyson (Zurich Barracudas) earned MVP and Leading Batter honours in the Women's Softball National League (NLA), while Georgia Ingle (Luzern Eagles) was the Best Pitcher and Kim Zehmder (Wittenbach Panthers) was the Playoff MVP.

The Softball National Team and Wittenbach Panthers head coach Larry Castro received Coach of the Year honours.

Melanie Sutter, the SBSF High Performance Administrator, received the Official of the Year Award.

SBSF inducted umpire Bruno Hubler, Andy Fleischacker, Mike Bundi and Sophie Zimmerman to the Swiss Baseball Softball Hall of Fame. The Class of 2025 represented the first inductions since 2023.

SBSF also introduced a video, edited by Louie Jay Sienders about Switzerlands's participation in the Baseball European Championship. The 11th place finish is the best result ever for Switzerland.
