The World Games 2025 Women's Softball: Netherlands, Chinese Taipei for semifinal spot; Japan, Canada for Group A first place
Welcome to Day 3 of The World Games 2025 Women's Softball competition at the Xindu Better City Softball Arena in Chengdu, China. Friday’s morning games will decide the final berth to the semifinals and determine the standings in both groups — including first and second place in Group B, where Canada and Japan have already secured their spots and will face each other for the top position. Netherlands and Chinese Taipei will go head to head for Group A's second spot.

In Group A, No. 2 USA has already clinched first place. No. 6 Netherlands and No. 5 Chinese Taipei — both with a 1-1 record — will meet at 10 a.m. (local time) in a decisive matchup for second place and a ticket to the semifinals. USA and No. 10 China will play at 1 p.m. in a game that will not affect the standings, as China is locked into fourth place regardless of the result.
In Group B, No. 4 Canada and No. 1 Japan will also collide at 10 a.m. to decide first place. Out of medal contention, No. 3 Puerto Rico and No. 8 Australia will meet at 1 p.m. in a game that will settle third and fourth place in the group. Canada defeated Puerto Rico in a high-scoring battle yesterday, while Australia fell to Japan on Opening Day.
