WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup Super Round: USA and Japan take the field. Mexico and Puerto Rico win
The second day of the WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup 2025 Super Round is underway.
Mexico defeated Czechia in Caronno Pertusella and tied them at 1-3.
Puerto Rico's Isabella Ortiz walked it off against Chinese Taipei and also earned the win as a pitcher, going the distance and striking out ten. Puerto Rico guaranteed a spot in the bronze medal game and still has a chance to play the World Championship Final.
USA-Japan will close the day at 19:00 (local time).
Australia beat Spain in the first Placement Round game in Legnano.
Canada defeated American Samoa in six innings and will finish first in the Placement Round, seventh overall.
SIngapore-Italy will play at 18:30 (local time).

Super Round Games
USA @ Japan
Puerto Rico-Chinese Taipei 4-3
Isabella Ortiz led Puerto Rico over Chinese Taipei with a bases-loaded walk-off single.
The Boricua took a quick lead over Lu-Ou-Jia-Ge De Le, but Chinese Taipei came back and took command of the game with a three-run inside-the-park homer by En-Shi Hsu.
Chinese Taipei took a 3-2 lead into the seventh. Jerianys Montes led off the bottom half of the frame with a single. Janalyn Duque bunted her to second, and Alondra Aldebol singled through the right side to tie the game at three. Nyla Melendez added a single through the left side, bringing Aldebol to third. She reached second on the throw. With one out, Chinese Taipei intentionally walked Yazmine Johnson to load the bases. Ortiz fouled off the first pitch, looked at two balls and delivered the game-winning hit on the fourth pitch she saw.
Isabella Ortiz also struck out ten to earn the win.

Mexico-Czechia 4-1
Mexico defeated Czechia and earned the first Super Round win. The two teams are now tied at 1-3 and still have a chance to advance to the bronze-medal game.
Mexico took a quick lead over Klara Dostalova, but Czechia managed to take a 1-1 tie into the fifth. In the top of the fifth, the Tricolores got to Dostalova with four consecutive hits, including a two-RBI single by Alisson Gonzalez that gave them a lead they wouldn't surrender.
Raquel Pineda earned the win for Mexico, allowing one unearned run on five hits. Czechia loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, bringing the potential tying run at third. Anna Ringlerova, the potential winning run, popped out on Pineda's sixth pitch.

Placement Round Games
Singapore @ Italy
Canada-American Samoa 7-0
Canada scored six runs in the bottom of the third on their way to a win in six innings against American Samoa that guarantees them the leading position in the Placement Round, seventh place overall. Canada had 12 hits, with leadoff Robyn McIsaac going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Rachel Clegg, Chelsea Tan and Kenzie Newman limited American Samoa to a pair of hits.

Australia-Spain 5-4
Jessica Middleton batted in the winning run and struck out the side to lead Australia to beat Spain and improve their record to 2-2.
The Aussie took a quick lead on Maria Albalejo, but Spain got to starter Jamie Lau and her reliever Charlotte Bedwell to tie the game at four between the third and the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, Middleton scored Bedwell from third with one out to win the game for Australia.
