Dates confirmed for WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup 2026 in Sincelejo, Colombia
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), the Sincelejo City Government and the Colombian Softball Federation jointly announced today the official dates for the WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup 2026. The nine-day tournament will take place from 25 April to 3 May, 2026 at 20 de Enero Stadium and Eduardo Porras Arrazola Stadium in Sincelejo, Colombia.
A total of 12 teams will compete in the event. As host nation, world No. 14 Colombia has earned an automatic berth, while No. 2 Australia and No. 8 New Zealand will represent Oceania.
Asia and Europe will each send two teams to the second edition of this World Cup. The U-23 Men's Softball Asia Cup is scheduled for 2–5 June 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, while the U-23 Men’s Softball European Championship will be played in Havlíčkův Brod, Czechia, from 23 to 28 June 2025.
The lineup will be completed with four teams from the Americas, one from Africa, and a Wild Card. The Wild Card will be awarded to Colombia if they do not finish among the top four at the Americas Qualifier.
For the second consecutive time, the WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup will be staged in South America. The inaugural edition was held in Paraná, Argentina, in April 2023, where Australia were crowned World Champions, with Japan and Argentina taking silver and bronze respectively.
This historic event will mark the first time Colombia hosts a WBSC Softball tournament.
