Brazil holds Baseball/Softball development clinics in Sao Paulo
The Brazilian Baseball and Softball Confederation (CBBS) held clinics in two cities in the São Paulo area to increase the sport's popularity.
More than 200 children attended the initiative. CCBS coaches and instructors led the activity on the field
"The goal was taking Baseball/Softball to children around the country," stated WBSC Americas in a press release. "Baseball continues to develop in the Amazonian country, with the support of this and other initiatives that the country's sports confederation carries out with planning and organisation."
Last year, Brazil hosted a WBSC Softball World Cup for the first time, becoming the 16th nation to organize a Women’s Softball World Cup (across all categories) and the 20th nation when including Men’s Softball World Cups. The CBBS hosted Group A of the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup at the Estadio Municipal de Beisebol Mie Nishi in Sao Paulo from 23 to 27 July, 2024 where Brazil finished fifth.
Brazil is ranked 23rd in the WBSC Men's Baseball World Ranking and 27th in the WBSC Women's Softball World Ranking.
