A shout out to all Baseball/Softball fans around the world. Today marks World Baseball Softball Day, which is a chance to show off your true colours and showcase the best of our beautiful game.
The international Baseball/Softball community celebrates World Baseball Softball Day on 10th May, to celebrate the day the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) was created in 2014, following the successful merger of the International Baseball Federation and the International Softball Federation in 2014.

From its inception, the WBSC has tirelessly championed the global growth of Baseball/Softball, encouraging innovation, teamwork and international collaboration and therefore all WBSC National Federations and Members are encouraged to get involved and celebrate World Baseball Softball Day by posting their passion for Baseball/Softball on social media.
"Last year, we celebrated the first 10 years as the WBSC," WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said. "Looking back at the last 365 days that led us here, I see how our continuous work has enabled us to celebrate more accolades, including a successful Premier12 third edition and the hard work towards LA28. I wish the whole Baseball/Softball community a happy World Baseball Softball Day and a fruitful year for our beloved disciplines!"

National Federations and Baseball/Softball fans are encouraged to actively participate in World Baseball Softball Day by playing or engaging with our sport and any of its disciplines – Baseball, Softball, Baseball5 or eSport – and showcasing the activity by publishing on World Baseball Softball Day a video or photo on any of the key WBSC social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube or TikTok - tagging @WBSC and using the hashtags #BaseballSoftballDay #WBSD.

10th of May - World Baseball Softball Day
This date holds special significance as the day when the WBSC elected its first Executive Board in 2014, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Baseball/Softball.
“We stand as a single, unified and strong International Federation. The 10th of May, the day the WBSC was founded in 2014, is a day for us to celebrate our unity and strength, along with our eight Confederations and 192 National Federations,” President Fraccari said.
The 10th May was declared World Baseball Softball Day to mark the anniversary of the WBSC, with the inaugural WBSC Congress taking place in Hammamet, Tunisia in 2014, where President Fraccari was elected the first president. This completed a successful merger between the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the International Softball Federation (ISF).
Last year, the WBSC celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a week-long series of workshops and meetings at the WBSC headquarters in Pully, Switzerland and a gala dinner at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
