Weekend Watch: Squirrel Fest squeaks in and UT Softball
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Now that March Madness is behind us, it's time to support baseball and softball. Plus, Squirrel Fest skips its way into Pease Park for an evening of fun!
Weekend Forecast
This weekend is looking nice and sunny, with temperatures heading back up into the mid to upper 80s. Winds will also cooperate with gentle winds on Saturday and will be a bit breezier on Sunday. Sunday evening will see a slight return of clouds after days of sunshine.
Squirrel Fest 2025
This would make Squirrel Girl from Marvel Comics very happy. Squirrel Fest 2025 is set to take place Saturday, April 12, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Pease Park, located at 1100 Kingsbury Street. The event will host a variety of activities you can take part in, including music and food, plus face painting, squirrel origami, bird bingo, and creating clay ceramic sculptures. At 8 p.m., there will be a showing of The Wild Robot for all to enjoy. You can find more information on their website.
UT Softball Weekend
It's a weekend of games for the UT Softball team as Tennessee makes the trip into the Lone Star State for three back-to-back games against the Longhorns. Taking place on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m., and Sunday at noon at Red & Charline McCombs Field, the games are expected to be action-packed as both teams are in the Top 10, with Texas taking the #1 spot. Plus, with the weather looking great, there should be no issues during the games.
Austin Margarita Festival
How doesn't like a good margarita! The Austin Margarita Festival is taking place this Saturday April 12th from 12pm-6pm at the Armadillo Den on 10106 Menchaca Road. From a DJ, to food, to a plethora of margaritas, you have a chance to vote for the best margaritas! There will also be a Beer Garden as well!
