USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico & Canada earn berth to WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup as World No. 1 claims Pan American title

World No. 1 USA defeated hosts Mexico, 5-0, in the final of the U-15 Women's Softball Pan American Championship and repeated as continental champions in Acapulco. Both teams advanced to the WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup 2025, along with third-place and fourth-place finishers Puerto Rico and Canada. 

A total of 10 teams gathered at Unidad Deportiva Vicente Suárez to participate in the II U-15 Women's Softball Pan American Championship, a qualifier for the WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup scheduled in Legnano and Caronno Pertusella, Italy, from 27 June to 5 July.

USA completed their undefeated run with a 5-0 win over Mexico in the final. Lead-off hitter Michaela Landers went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Malloree Harr tossed five scoreless innings to claim the win.

The US first baseman Khloe Williams was named MVP of the tournament. She went 11-for-18 in the tournament for a .611 batting average, collecting 11 RBIs.

In the bronze medal game, Puerto Rico defeated Canada 4-0. Makayla Megnauth (five innings pitched) and Maya Melendez (two) completed the shutout of the Caribbean squad.

USA displayed dominance throughout the tournament, winning six out of their eight games by run-rule and outscoring opponents 90-2.

With the completion of the Americas Qualifier and the Asian Qualifier this past weekend, the qualified teams for the World Cup are:

  • Africa (1)
  • Americas (4): No. 1 USA, No. 9 Mexico, No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 6 Canada
  • Asia (2): No. 2 Japan, No. 4 Chinese Taipei
  • Europe (3): No. 7 Italy, No. 8 Czechia, No. 13 Spain
  • Oceania (2): No. 10 Australia, No. 64 American Samoa
