WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Group A: Media accreditation open until 20 July

<p>Media registration is open for the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-xviii-mens-softball-world-cup-group-b/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Group A</a> to be played in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 23 to 27 July. The deadline for registration is 20 July.</p>

<p>All members of the media, both local/national and international, who plan to cover the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Group A must apply for accreditation through the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at <a href="https://my.wbsc.org/mediareq/index" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://my.wbsc.org</a>.</p>

<p>The accreditation procedure starts by clicking on <a href="https://my.wbsc.org/mediareq/index" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS</a>. The online request form needs to be completed, also including a headshot.</p>

<p>Another automated message will indicate a "change of status" in the accreditation request.</p>

They will then need to enter their name, last name and email address.</p>

<h3><br><strong>GUIDELINES FOR NON-RIGHTS HOLDING (“NRH”) MEDIA</strong></h3>

<ul><li>Only rights holders of applicable games may transmit game footage (audio and/or video) of WBSC events.</li><li>NRH media credentials provide access to official training sessions, games, and Opening/Closing Ceremonies.</li><li>Specific categories will grant credentials (i.e., Press, Photographer, Radio and TV, Team Media), and stadium access will be given accordingly.</li><li>Photographers, NRH TV crews, and Team Media will be required to wear WBSC-issued media vests.</li></ul>

<h3><strong>The Event</strong></h3>

<p>The WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup opens this summer with the Group Stage. A total of 18 teams have been split into three groups, with the top two teams in each group’s final standings advancing to the Finals, scheduled for 2025 in Dallas, USA.</p>

<p>Each group consists of a four-day, 15-game round robin with the top four teams advancing to playoffs on the final day where the top two sides in the standings will play each other with a ticket to the Finals at stake. The loser of the first play-off game will then play against the winner of the game between third and fourth, for the second spot in the Finals.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-a/schedule-and-results" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Group A</a>, scheduled from 23 to 27 July <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-a/news/sao-paulo-brazil-to-host-wbsc-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-stage-from-23-to-27-july-2024" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">at the Estadio Municipal de Beisebol Mie Nishi</a> in Sao Paulo, Brazil, will feature world No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Czechia, No. 13 Great Britain, hosts and No. 22 Brazil, New Zealand and Colombia, who are tied at No. 33.</p>

<p>No. 2 Puerto Rico, No. 3 Japan, No. 6 Italy, No. 8 the Netherlands, No. 14 Peru and No. 17 China will compete in <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-b/schedule-and-results" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Group B</a>, scheduled from 14 to 18 August <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-b/news/wbsc-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-b-awarded-to-pingtan-china" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">at the Pingtan Softball Stadium</a> in China.</p>

<p>While <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-c/schedule-and-results" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Group C</a> includes No. 1 USA, No. 5 Canada, No. 7 Mexico, No. 10 Australia, No. 15 the Philippines and No. 21 Ireland. This group will take place from 29 August to 2 September at <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2024-ii-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-c/news/dallas-usa-to-host-wbsc-u-18-womens-softball-world-cup-group-in-2024-finals-2025" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Village Dallas in Dallas, Texas</a>.</p>
