New York Gremlins Nab Top Seed in Port Huron Tournament for Sunday Playoff Round

The New York Gremlins followed their 1-0 win over the NE Driller Friday night with two more wins Saturday to grab the top seed in Sunday’s four team playoff round. The Gremlins defeated the Ohio Bombers 11-0, and the Bear Creek Express, 5-2 in a closely contested contest. The Gremlins finished pool play with a 3-0 record and will play Sunday morning at 9am on the main field, Pine Grove Park against the 4th place finisher, a game that will be broadcast live on the GREMLINS NETWORK (via Softball Premier TV)

Bear Creek Express finished Saturday with another win, finishing pool play with a 2-1 record, as did the NE Drillers, pitting the two teams against each other in the 2nd vs. 3rd matchup, on field 2.

The winners of the two 9AM semi-final match-ups will square off at 12pm noon at the main field, Pine Grove Park that will be broadcast live on the GREMLINS NETWORK (via Softball Premier TV)

NY Gremlins Secure Win Against Bear Creek Express

NY Gremlins outsted Bear Creek Express 5-2 on Saturday. NY Gremlins got on the board in the second inning after Bryan Abrey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Bear Creek Express took the lead in the top of the fifth. Travis Jones homered to center field, scoring two runs, to give Bear Creek Express the lead, 2-1. In the bottom of the sixth inning, NY Gremlins went back into the lead after Ben Enoka hit a sacrifice fly, Cole Evans doubled, Ty Sebastian singled, and Blake Hunter singled, each scoring one run. Jack Besgrove earned the win for NY Gremlins. The reliever allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking none. Kadazani Madzulukna took the loss for Bear Creek Express. The reliever went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Kuba Osi?ka led things off in the circle for NY Gremlins. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Riley Manion began the game for Bear Creek Express. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking two. Abrey, Hunter, Evans, Enoka, and Sebastian each drove in one run for NY Gremlins. Evans led NY Gremlins with two hits in three at bats. NY Gremlins turned two double plays in the game. NY Gremlins were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Erick Ochoa had the most chances in the field with 11. Jones led Bear Creek Express with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Jordan Pomeroy, Jones, Brandon Horn, Tyler Pauli, and Jason Hill each collected one hit for Bear Creek Express.
