Softball great and WBSC Athletes Commission member Monica Abbott helped lead the narration of the highlights of the inaugural World Baseball Softball Day.

The two-minute video will become an everlasting memory when the subsequent World Baseball Softball Day editions happen.

As Francesco Ricci Bitti, the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, noted, stakeholders have many expectations about the future.

The WBSC itself is looking forward to the next 10 years with excitement. To put it in President Riccardo Fraccari's words, "innovation" has always been the organization's North Star.

The 10th of May was declared World Baseball Softball Day to mark the anniversary of the WBSC. The inaugural WBSC Congress took place in Hammamet, Tunisia, in 2014, and Riccardo Fraccari was elected the first president. This completed a successful merger between the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the International Softball Federation (ISF).

Celebrations included a week-long series of workshops and meetings at the WBSC headquarters in Pully, Switzerland, involving several stakeholders, such as the WBSC Athletes Commission, Associated Members and WBSC Staff.
