Media accreditation open for WBSC Men's Softball World Cup Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico

The deadline for registration is 8 June.</p>

<p>All members of the media, both local/national and international, who plan to cover the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup must apply for accreditation through the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at <a href="https://my.wbsc.org/mediareq/index" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">https://my.wbsc.org</a>.</p>

<p>The accreditations procedure starts by clicking on <a href="https://my.wbsc.org/mediareq/index" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS</a>. The online request form needs to be completed, also including a headshot.</p>

<p>Once the request is submitted, media members will receive an automated email confirmation that their application has been received. Those media intending to cover the event remotely should contact the WBSC Media Department by writing to <a href="mailto:media@wbsc.org">media@wbsc.org</a>.</p>

<p>Another automated message will indicate a "change of status" in the accreditation request.</p>

<p>Media members can check their request status <strong>after the registration deadline</strong>, <strong>8 June</strong>, by accessing my.wbsc.org and clicking <a href="https://my.wbsc.org/mediareq/index" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">SEARCH FOR YOUR ACCREDITATION</a> on the top right of the page. They will then need to enter their name, last name and email address.</p>

<p>The WBSC will share a protocol for media interviews during the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup Group A with the accredited media before the tournament opens.</p>

<h3><strong>GUIDELINES FOR NON-RIGHTS HOLDING (“NRH”) MEDIA</strong></h3>

<ul><li>Only rights holders of applicable games may transmit game footage (audio and/or video) of WBSC events.</li><li>NRH media credentials provide access to official training sessions, games, and Opening/Closing Ceremonies.</li><li>Specific categories will grant credentials (i.e., Press, Photographer, Radio and TV, Team Media), and stadium access will be given accordingly.</li><li>Photographers, NRH TV crews, and Team Media will be required to wear WBSC-issued media vests.</li></ul>

<h3><strong>The Event</strong></h3>

<p>The Men's Softball World Cup will open this summer with the Group Stage. A total of 18 teams have been split into three groups, with the top two teams in each group’s final standings advancing to the Finals, scheduled for 2025 in Prince Albert, Canada.</p>

<p>Group A, scheduled from 12 to 16 June in Hermosillo, Mexico, will feature the defending world champions and top-ranked in the world Australia, No. 5 and European champions Czechia, Venezuela, hosts and No. 9 Mexico, and Dominican Republic. The 19 games will be staged at the Carlos Ortiz Stadium and the newly renovated Mundialistas Hermosillenses Stadium, venues of last year's WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup.</p>

<p>Each group consists of a four-day, 15-game round robin with the top four teams advancing to playoffs on the final day where the top two sides in the standings will play each other with a ticket to the Finals at stake. The loser of the first play-off game will then play against the winner of the game between third and fourth, for the second spot in the Finals.</p>
