Sooners and Cowgirls Honored By Big 12 Softball Coaches

Ten different Sooners and five different Cowgirls were honored on Wednesday when the Big 12 released the 2024 Big 12 softball awards.

Oklahoma State pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, and Oklahoma's Kinzie Hansen was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

It's the third time in the last four seasons OSU has the conference's pitcher of the year.

It's the sixth year in a row OU has had the defensive player of the year, and the 11th time since the award was first handed out in 2004.

Oklahoma had nine players make All-Big 12.

Alyssa Brito, Jayda Coleman, Kinzie Hansen, Tiare Jennings and Kelly Maxwell all made first team.

Rylie Boone, Kierston Deal, Ella Parker, and Alynah Torres all made second team.

OSU had four players make All-Big 12.

Kilfoyl, Karli Godwin and Caroline Wang all made first team.

Ivy Rosenberry made second team.

OU's Parker and Kasidi Pickering made the All-Freshman team, while Godwin and Rosie Davis made it from the Cowgirls.
