Top-10 WBSC Softball World Cup Plays of the Year: No. 7 Sebastian Hassell (Venezuela)

0 43

Welcome back to the WBSC Top-10 Softball Plays of the Year, a review of the best 10 plays in the WBSC Softball World Cups in 2023. At No. 7, Sebastian Hassell from Venezuela showed off his wheels and his glove with a crazy leaping catch over the wall in foul territory at the WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico.

On Day 2 at the World Cup, Venezuela battled against New Zealand in a game that proved to be crucial for the Venezuelan team's qualification for the Super Round.

It's the fourth inning of a 1-0 game for New Zealand, when Jayden Potts hits a long fly ball to right field into foul territory. Hassell races toward the right-field line and goes over the wall in foul territory to make a sensational catch to record the second out of the inning.

To sign off a superb game for he right hander, Hassell then hit a walk-off RBI single, in the bottom of the seventh, to give Venezuela a 2-1 win over New Zealand.
