One month to go: Discover Fingal-Dublin, home of the XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group A

<p>For every softball fan in the world, Fingal-Dublin, Ireland, will be the place to be in exactly one month from today, when the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-xvii-womens-softball-world-cup-group-a/home"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup</span></strong></a> opens on 11 June, with the first three games of the tournament’s Group A.&nbsp;World No. 1 USA, Chinese Taipei (3), Australia (9), Great Britain (16), hosts Ireland (17) and Botswana (43)&nbsp;will play the first 19 games of the tournament at Balbriggan Softball Field before the World Cup moves to Valencia, Spain for Group B action.</p>

<p>Group A games will be staged in Balbriggan, a Fingal County coastal town of about 22,000 inhabitants, located 34 kilometres north of Dublin City.</p>

<p>One of the main attractions in Balbriggan is Bremore Castle, a large tower house built in the 14<sup>th</sup>&nbsp;century that will serve as backdrop of the temporary softball stadium, located just meters away from the historic building.</p>

<p>Balbriggan is also known for its beach, with Martello Tower as its focal point overlooking walking trails and scenic views of the coastline and the Irish Sea.</p>

<p>Visitors to Fingal-Dublin can expect warm weather with an average temperature of 16 degrees, and with highs and lows averaging between 19 and 12 degrees Celsius respectively. Tickets </p>

Located in the&nbsp;east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey,&nbsp;its historic buildings include Dublin Castle which dates to the 13th century, and St Patrick’s Cathedral which was founded in 1191.&nbsp;Situated at the head of Dublin Bay of the&nbsp;Irish Sea, Dublin is the country’s chief port, centre of financial and commercial power and seat of&nbsp;culture.</p>
