TUCSON, Ariz. – The Friends University Falcons battled back in a big way after dropping the first game today (Mar. 13) 5-1 to the Doane College Tigers by blasting off for a 13-0 victory over the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks in the second day of action at the Tucson Invite in Tucson, Ariz.

The Falcons trailed the Tigers from the outset in the opening tilt today, as Anna Prauner doubled home three runs in the first inning.

It was a 4-0 deficit when Priscilla Mora (SO/Beaumont, Calif. ) singled in pinch runner Marina Roman (FR/Eastvale, Calif.) in the fourth for the Falcons' only run of the game.

An RBI single by Grace Dowding in the fifth closed out the scoring for Doane.

Laila Spracklen (SR/San Diego, Calif. ) started for the Falcons and struck out eight, walked three and allowed five runs in six innings.

Dowding had two hits in four at-bats for the Tigers.

The Falcons immediately flipped the script in the second outing, jumping all over the Blue Hawks with nine runs in the first frame while sending 14 batters to the plate.

Fallyn Marshall (JR/Syracuse, Utah) and Aleigha Gale (JR/Winfield, Kan. ) ignited the inning by each singling and swiping second.

Bases-loaded walks to Carolyn Dallimore (SR/Patterson, Calif. ) and Vanessa Sigala (JR/Carson, Calif. ) accounted for the first two runs before Makenna Mitchell (SR/Orange County, Calif. ) singled home a run to make it 3-0.

Following another bases-loaded pass to Jayden Estabrook (SO/Tracy, Calif. ), RBI singles from Alex Vick (FR/San Antonio, Texas), Marshall, Mora and Dallimore opened the floodgates early.

A two-run single by Mitchell in the fourth ignited a four-run inning and put a strong exclamation point on the Falcon victory.

Isabelle Schwien (JR/Denver, Colo. ) was solid in the circle vs. Dickinson State, tossing five shutout innings and giving up just three hits with four strikeouts.

Mitchell and Marshall each had two hits, with Mitchell driving in three runs and Marshall recording two RBIs. Vick also drove in a pair of runs for Friends.

The Falcons, now 11-5 overall and winners of eight of their past nine games, will wrap up action in Tucson, Ariz. with games tomorrow (Mar. 14) vs. St. Clair College and Cottey College.
