[Softball] SU Sweeps Four Games at Texas Tournament

Simpson opened the 2023 campaign by splitting doubleheaders at Vanguard and at home against Bushnell in the first week of February, but the Red Hawks hit their stride last weekend at the Southern Collegiate Sports Tournament in Allen, Tex.  SU (6-2) ran off four consecutive wins last Friday and Saturday, beating Texas Wesleyan 7-3, Oklahoma Panhandle 5-0, SAGU (Tex.) 3-1, and Science and Arts (Okla.) 6-4.  In the win over TWU, Isabella Munoz went 3-for-4 and Kassandra Soria went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.  Sydney Moorhead tossed a six-hit shutout with seven strikeouts in the win over OPU, and Jessica Ulshoeffer went the distance allowing only six hits against SAGU.
