[Softball] Summers Shines as No. 25 Saint Xavier Sweeps Doubleheader

Rosemont, Ill. – Junior pitcher Laila Summers (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) earned the win in both ends of a doubleheader to help No. 25 Saint Xavier University softball (3-1/0-0 CCAC) earn two victories at the Roosevelt University (Ill.) Dome Tournament at the Ballpark in Rosemont in Rosemont, Ill. Saturday afternoon. The Cougars defeated Aquinas College (Mich.) 9-1 in five innings in game one and edged past Cleary University (Mich.) in the second game. Summers moved her record to 3-0 on the young season as she tossed a combined 6.0 innings of relief with six hits, two runs, a walk and four strikeouts.
