WBSC Athlete Representative Election: Baseball members confirmed, Softball candidates announced

<p>The WBSC has announced the four athlete representatives for men's and women's baseball have been confirmed, while the official candidates for the Athlete Representative Election for women's and men's softball have been listed following the passing of the <a href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/wbsc-opens-nomination-procedure-for-athletes-representatives-election"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">deadline for nominations</span></strong></a> and subsequent screening process.</p>

<p>Eight athletes will be elected in total - two men's baseball, two women's baseball, two men's softball, and two women's softball representatives. Since only two nominations were received for men's and women's baseball respectively, the nominated athletes are confirmed for the positions. </p>

<p>Athlete Representatives, Athlete's Commission or National Team of each WBSC Member Federation shall collect polls from their respective athletes. Then, on behalf of their athletes, the National Federation will submit the final vote in writing. The president and the secretary-general will sign <strong><a href="https://static.wbsc.org/assets/cms/documents/af673fca-e41a-d5bd-2a6e-b0aa420524ff.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="the declaration (opens in a new tab)"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">the declaration</span></a></strong>.</p>

<p>The WBSC will hold an Extraordinary Congress in written form on Thursday, 24 November to approve the elected athlete representatives and the athlete representatives' ratification in the WBSC Executive Board and the Baseball and Softball Division Boards.</p>
