<p><strong>Bottom 2nd: ITA 4-3 CAN</strong> - Canda's bats come alive in their second at bat. Erika Polidori scores Canada's first run on an infield single by Janet Leung after a comebacker to Italian starter Ilaria Cacciamani who couldn't make the play. Thenn, an illegal pitch with the bases loaded allowed Leung to score from third, and Victoria Hayward hit a sacrifice fly to center field to make it a one-run ballgame.</p>

<p><strong>Top 2nd: ITA 4-0 CAN</strong> - Vigna produces one more in her second at bat with a single over the left field line to plate Fabrizia Marrone.</p>

<p><strong>Top 1st: ITA 3-0 CAN</strong> - Italy scored three in the top of the first with a pair of home runs. Laura Vigna hit a leadoff homer to right field, while Giulia Longhi went yard with a 2-run bomb over the center field fence. </p>
