[Softball] Schultz Named CCAC Player of the Year; Six Players Earn All-CCAC

CHICAGO – Senior catcher Brittany Schultz (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Year and earned First Team All-CCAC from No. 25 Saint Xavier University softball (36-6, 21-1 CCAC) to earn All-CCAC recognition. Five other members of the squad were also named All-CCAC. In addition to the player honors, head coach Erin Mollohan-Corrao claimed the CCAC Coach of the Year award. Schultz is the first Cougar to win the Player of the Year award since former All-American Nicole Nonnemacher (2013-16) won it in 2016. Nonnemacher also was the Pitcher of the Year that season and won her third consecutive NAIA Pitcher of the Year award. It is also the first time that SXU has had the Coach of the Year since Myra Minuskin won the award in both 2015 & 2016.

Joining Schultz on the All-CCAC First Team were senior outfielder Lyda Robinson (Seneca, Ill./Seneca), junior outfielder Sarah Bowen (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire), junior infielder Morgan Haefling (Gilberts, Ill./Hampshire) and freshman pitcher Julianne Claas (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Hamilton). Sophomore infielder Alexus Reese (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) was named Second Team All-CCAC.
