Baseball/softball pictures shine at 'Run for Art' international photographer contest

<p>Tetsu Chih-Ching Lee (Taiwan), who pictured the importance of softball in his region, is amongst the winners of the fifth edition of the <em>Run for Art</em> international contest for young photographers under 35, an event organised by the <em>Giulio Onesti</em> Foundation </p>

<p>The finalists' works will be on display at the International Mugham Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 6 to 16 April, the inauguration date marking the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. On display will be images of the five new Tokyo 2020 Olympic sports (baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing) seen through the lens of young photographers under 35 with over 100 photographers from 37 countries having participated.</p>

<p>The 40 photographs portray <em>The five new Olympic sports. The contemporary challenge to ability and disability</em>. They focus on the evolving concept of sport for the young generations and the introduction of baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.</p>

<p>The exhibition, curated by the first Italian to win an Olympic medal in swimming Novella Calligaris, who is also a member of the Foundation's executive board, is organized in partnership with the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan on its 30<sup>th</sup> anniversary.</p>

<p>The winners were picked by a jury chaired by Ivo Ferriani, an IOC member and the President of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation( IBSF).</p>
