European Softball Masters Cup opens in Barcelona, Spain

<p>A total of 16 teams, 10 in the men’s competition and 6 in the women’s event, started today the European Softball Masters Cup. The tournaments are being played in Barcelona. The finals will be played on Saturday, 30 October.</p>

<p>The 10-team men’s competition starts with the teams split into two groups. In Group A will compete Denmark Old Stars (DEN), Israel Tigers (ISR), United Prague (CZE), Sweden (SWE) and Les Gaulois (FRA). Group B will be played by Magos de Tenerife (ESP), Euskadi (ESP), Italia (ITA), Tempo Praha (CZE) and Royal Greys Grizzlies (BEL). <p>The top teams in both group’s standings will face off in the final this Saturday at 7 p.m. The Italian squad is the defending champion.</p>
