Athletes Unlimited softball season to crown a champion this weekened

<p>Athletes Unlimited Softball season two is coming to an end with the last six games to be played this weekend. The 'athlete-centered' competition will close on Monday crowning the Athletes Unlimited Softball Champion. According to the league, three-time Olympic medalist Cat Osterman will retire from professional softball at the end of the season.</p>

<p>After four weeks of competition, Puerto Rican two-way player Aleshia Ocasio leads the standings with 1,558 points, followed by Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Amanda Chidester, who sits 52 points behind the lead. Carrie Eberle is in third place with 1,378 points and WBSC world champion Sahvanna Jaquish is fourth.</p>

<p>All of them will captain the teams in the last week of the season, and drafted their players on Tuesday. </p>

<p>The competition format is centred on a player’s performance, not the teams. During the games, players get points for “winning” each inning, and also for each of their individual statistics. When games are over, three MVPs will be chosen and awarded points.</p>
