0 11

WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Softball Falcons fell in two of their games today at the Friends Invitational at Two Rivers Youth Complex.

In the first game of the day, the Falcons fell 9-1 to Briar Cliff University, but rebounded to knock off the Peru State College Bobcats 3-2.

But the University of Jamestown then got the best of the Falcons by another 9-1 count.

Aleigha Gale hit a one-out single and scored the game's first run on a double by Carolyn Dallimore in the bottom of the first in the victory over PSC.

Following an RBI double by Morgan Wilke that tied the score in the third, Kaylen Lassley blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to put the Falcons back in front.

In the seventh, the Bobcats managed to score and cut the Falcon lead to one run and had the potential tying tally just 60 feet away, but Michelle Kroell buckled down and induced a groundout to close out the victory.

Lassley finished with a pair of hits in two at-bats for the Falcons (8-3), including the big two-run homer.

Kroell allowed two runs and struck out four along with a pair of walks in the complete game victory.

Wilke was 2-of-4 at the plate and Layla Worthington struck out four and gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings for PSC.

During the third game vs. Jamestown, Dallimore slugged her first homer of the season after hitting three home runs in the abbreviated season last year.

The Falcons will wrap up play at the Invitational tomorrow (Mar. 7) vs. (RV) Concordia University at noon and then another matchup vs Jamestown at 4 pm.
