[Softball] Madonna Picked at top of 2021 Softball Preseason Poll

Head coaches in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) picked Madonna as the favorite to win the 2021 softball season. The Crusaders picked up nine of the 12 first-place votes and tallied 141 points. Aquinas was picked second with 120 points while receiving two first-place votes. In third, UNOH grabbed the last first-place vote and finished with 111 points.

With the 2020 season wiped out due to COVID, teams only got in 22 games at the most and did not play a league contest. Madonna was receiving votes in the NAIA poll and was off to an 18-3 start before spring sports were canceled. MU has eight conference crowns in its trophy case, including the last three awarded (2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019). Aquinas, 12-10, last year, holds seven league titles (2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2018).

The first conference weekend is scheduled for March 26-28 as Indiana Tech and Cornerstone start the conference schedule with a doubleheader on that Friday.
