[Softball] Catching Up With: Lavey making mark in education

NOTE: During this time with the spring sports season canceled due to the corona virus pandemic, we take time to catch up with some of our UHV student-athlete alumni.

Stephanie (Lavey) Clayton has not only left her mark on the University of Houston-Victoria softball program she has also left her mark in education after graduating from UHV in 2009 with a degree in education.

After graduating, Clayton went on to teach kindergarten, first grade and fourth grade, before receiving her Master's degree in Education Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University in 2017.She is now in her first year as assistant principal at Arizona Fleming Elementary in the Fort Bend ISD in Houston. She has also been recognized for her work being named Rookie Teacher of the Year and FBISD Elementary District Teacher of the Year.
