Lady Bison To Open District 9-AAA Playoffs at Home

HYDE — The Clearfield Area High School softball team is the No. 2 seed for the 2019 District 9 Class AAA Playoffs and will get to play at the Bison Sports Complex one more time, athletic director Robert Gearhart announced Thursday morning.
Pairings released by District 9 Committee softball chairman Pete Grecco of Brockway show the Lady Bison (10-8) hosting No. 3 seed Brookville (9-9) next Wednesday with the first pitch at 4 p.m.
The winner will meet No. 1 seed Karns City (15-1) in the title game, and a berth in the PIAA Class AAA Tournament, at Heindl Field in DuBois City Park on Tuesday, May 28.
This is the first year in Class AAA for Clearfield, which previously competed in Class AAAA.
