[Softball] Krieger named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

Senior Morgan Krieger was named to the 2019 Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-District Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

It marks the third straight year Krieger has been voted to the team.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

Krieger represents District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Noth Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She now advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, where first- and second-team All-America honorees will be selected. Krieger was a first team selection in 2018.

Krieger, a corner infielder from Plainfield, Ill., earned all-conference honors for the fourth straight season after batting .338 with eight doubles, four triples and four home runs. She drove in 35 runs while scoring 31. She finished ninth in the CCAC in RBIs.

Krieger ended her SAU career tied for second in program history with 211 career hits. She is also second in career doubles (46), second in career RBIs (143) and fifth in career home runs (22).

A psychology major, Krieger has maintained a 4.0 GPA at St. Ambrose.
