[Softball] Point Softball Sweeps Doubleheader from Agnes Scott, 2-1 and 10-2

DECATUR, Ga. – Point University (4-4) scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning and won game one, 2-1, and scored three runs in the first inning and four run in the seventh inning in a 10-2 victory in game two against Agnes Scott College (0-4), a member of the NCAA Division III, in non-conference softball action at Oakhurst Park in Decatur, Ga., Feb. 15.  Point's offense totaled 17 hits; the defense committed just two errors in 59 field chances, and starting pitchers Ryan Simpson (Valley, AL) and Allie Beilstein (Montgomery, AL) allowed eight hits and just two walks and struck out 17 batters in the twinbill.  Coached by Jennifer Tyler (8th season), Point opens the Appalachian Athletic Conference season at West Point Park Field with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Columbia College (0-0) from South Carolina, Saturday, Feb. 16.
