[Softball] IW Softball Picked to Finish Eighth in Preseason Poll

Belleville, IL - January 23, 2019 - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has released the results of the softball preseason coaches poll.  The top spot went to the Blue Jays of Westminster College, who finished the poll with a total of 78 points and seven of the first place votes.  Iowa Wesleyan received 29 points and was slated to finish eighth.

The Tigers finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 7-27 and went 5-13 in conference play.  Head Coach, Mike Hampton, returns for his 27th season at the helm of the Tigers and he will have four starters from last year's squad back on the roster this season.  Ashley Machholz (JR/Mediapolis, IA) and Emmy Rodriguez (SR/Oro Grande, CA) will give a young Tiger team plenty of experience in the outfield, and they will have McKenzie Copher (SR/Worth, IL) and Alex Eyman (SO/Lockport, IL) to help anchor the infield.
