[GV] Seventeen Teams Earn 2017-18 NAIA Scholar-Team Honor
Kansas City, Mo. – Seventeen Grand View athletic programs have earned the distinction for Scholar-Teams for the 2017-18 academic year announced the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The women's basketball team lead the Vikings this year with a 3.69 team GPA, as women's soccer and softball followed right behind with a 3.49 collective GPA. A total of 1,862 teams earned the honor from the NAIA.
During the spring semester alone, 121 Grand View student-athletes earned a 4.00 GPA along with 61% earning over a 3.00.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
