Amador Valley’s Danielle Williams is softball Metro Player of the Year

She arrived with little expected of her. She left having carried her team with her bat and left arm.

At every turn, pitching or hitting, Amador Valley-Pleasanton’s Danielle Williams delivered — and she finished with the most impressive flurry of her stellar career.

After the the low point to her season — an 8-0 drubbing by crosstown rival Foothill in the East Bay Athletic League playoffs — Williams dominated four North Coast Section Division 1 foes, leading the Dons (23-5-1) to their fourth North Coast Section title.

Williams pitched four consecutive shutouts (including a no-hitter), striking out 58 in 28 innings in the process.
