[Softball] SSC Softball Advances to NJCAA DI National Championships

The Seminole State College Softball Team won all four games they played in the Region II tournament this past weekend advancing them to the National Championships.  Kristen Prieto drove in six on three hits to lead Seminole State Trojans past Eastern Oklahoma State College 11-3 on Friday afternoon. Prieto drove in runs on a single in the second, a home run in the fifth, and a double in the sixth.   Ally Lewis got the win for Seminole State Trojans. She allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out one and walking one.  Haley Pomplun had four hits in Seminole State Trojans 8-4 victory against Northern Oklahoma College- Enid on Saturday. Pomplun tripled in the first, singled in the second, homered in the fourth, and doubled in the sixth. Seminole State had 11 hits in the game and Pomplun went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead SSC.  Turner Whorton didn't allow a single run as Seminole State Trojans defeated Connors State College 2-0 on Saturday night.  She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking one.  Hayley Reibenspies, Abi Johnson, and Jolie Romine each collected one hit to lead Seminole.  Macy Smith had an impressive four hits and leading Seminole State Trojans to a 21-3 victory over Connors State College on Sunday to capture the Region II title. Smith doubled in the first, homered in the second, homered in the second, and doubled in the third.  Seminole State Trojans secured the victory scoring 15 runs in the second inning.  Trojans racked up 19 hits in the game while Smith, Reibenspies, Jolie Romine, Richardson, Abi Johnson, Kizarr, and Pomplun each had multiple hits.

Ally Lewis, Kristen Prieto, Emily Richardson, Macy Smith, Turner Whorton and Haley Pomplun (MVP) were named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion.   Head Coach Amber Flores was also named Region II Coach of the Year.
