[Softball] Tigers split day one action at MSC tournament

Georgetown College softball split games day one in the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Bowling Green, Ky. The Tigers won 2-0 over University of Pikeville before falling to Lindsey Wilson College 14-6 in the nightcap. GC is back in action 1:30 pm EDT (weather permitting) against Shawnee State University.

Chaselyn Allgeier walked and singled, scoring twice, in her first two plate appearances. Singling her in was fellow senior Kara Howard, which became the single-season RBI leader at Georgetown College with her first hit. She currently has 59 for the season, previous record was 57 by Kara Renfro in 2008.

Hannah Morton dominated in the circle in game one, picking up her 18th win – tying her for third best in a season with Jessica Claxton. She scattered three hits with 10 strikeouts, moving her into third all-time for a season in that category as well.
