Riders can rely on star at short

Gabbie Cox is a junior shortstop for the Ichabod Crane softball team.
Named to the Class B all-state fourth team as an outfielder in 2017, Cox earned Times Union small-school all-star plaudits after batting .500 and helping the Riders advance to the Section II final.
In addition to excelling on the diamond, Cox is accomplished in soccer and hockey. She is playing in her third varsity softball season with the Riders (7-0).

Q: How would you assess how the season has gone so far?
A: It is going well. We are definitely where we want to be getting ready for sectionals. We're not getting a lot of games in, but it is going good so far.
