PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (25-13-1, 11-7 Great Midwest) won a pair of games from conference rival Alderson Broaddus University (3-27, 2-10 Great Midwest). The first, a 15-0 win, and the second, a 13-3 victory.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES:  Trevecca and Alderson Broaddus met for the 17th time during the NCAA era. The series is now in favor of the Trojans 15-2. The Trojans have won the last five meetings.

Trevecca scored three runs to open the contest in the first inning … the Trojans added seven more runs in the second behind a sacrifice fly from Mary Collins (JR/Collierville, TN), Caitlyn Hudgins (JR/Springfield, TN) reaching on a fielding error that scored Danielle Horton (SR/Columbia, TN) and Dallas Richards (SR/Columbia, TN) … Tana Whited (SO/Lebanon, TN) doubled and brought in Megan Groves (FR/White House, TN) … then Kelsey Seitz (FR/Milford, OH) hit a three-run double which scored Kat Burbrink (SR/Hamilton, OH), Tana Whited, and Caitlyn Hudgins … Tana Whited had a two run single in the third inning which scored Megan Groves and Maddux Reid (JR/Bourbonnais, IL) … TNU led 12-0 after three innings … Dallas Richards homered in the fourth … Kelsey Seitz scored … Maddux Reid hit a single to bring in Brooke Eakes (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) … TNU won the game 15-0 after five innings.

Trevecca began game two with a five run first inning … a Mary Collins single drove in MaKray Odom (SO/McEwen, TN) … Caitlyn Hudgins then hit a two-run home run … Kelsey Seitz hit a two-run single to left field which brought in Kat Burbrink and Tana Whited … Hudgins singled in the second inning to bring in Megan Groves and Mary Collins … TNU added four more in the third … Megan Groves had a three run single to bring in Mary Collins, Danielle Horton and MaKray Odom … Brooke Eakes also scored … TNU led 11-0 after three innings … Kat Burbrink's two run home run in the fourth gave the Trojans a 13-0 lead … TNU won the game 13-3.

Trevecca stays on the road for a pair of conference games on April 21st against Davis & Elkins College (11-16-1, 6-7-1 G-MAC). The doubleheader against the Senators will begin at 11 a.m. CT. Trevecca and Davis & Elkins will be meeting for the 17th time in the NCAA era. Trevecca is 15-1 against D&E all-time and have won the last eight contests.
