[Softball] Scots Upset No. 8 Cougars in Doubleheader Finale

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College softball team handed No. 8 Columbia their first conference loss of the season in the finale of a doubleheader today at House Field, as Cheyenne Herrera knocked in the eventual game winning run in the sixth inning to help the team to a 5-3 victory. Columbia took the first game by a score of 8-3, but the momentum quickly shifted to Lyon in the final game as they scored five unanswered runs, which was part of the AMC Games of the Week.

Cheyenne Black added two RBIs in each of the contests against the Cougars and set a program record for most RBIs in a single-season, with 43 on the year. Black broke Helen Zyjewski's record of 42 RBIs, which was set in 2010.
