[Softball] Vanguard Sweeps SDC on the Road
SANTEE, Calif. — No. 5-ranked Vanguard University jumped right back into Golden State Athletic Conference action and hit the road, traveling to San Diego Christian College for a doubleheader against the Hawks. The Blue and Gold came out of the day with two more wins on the season, improving to 41-6 overall and 7-4 in GSAC. Vanguard also improves their current win streak to six games as they move into the remaining eight regular season games. The Lions dominated the opener, defeating SDC with a score of 11-1, scoring the bulk of their runs on late rallies in the final two innings. The Pride was just as dominant in the nightcap and claimed the game with a score of 9-1. The batter's box stayed hot for Vanguard who put up a combined 27 hits on the day. Cassie Balswick had a stellar game one and went 4-for-5 at the plate, scored once and logged four RBI. Kaitlin Estes hit her second home run in two games with a two-run dinger in game one.
