[Softball] Dominance, Focus Secure Doubleheader Victory
COSTA MESA, Calif. — After falling to Hope International University before the Easter break, Vanguard University was eager to get back out on the playing field. The Lions completed the comeback with a 2-0 doubleheader victory over the University of Antelope Valley, securing the sweep and boosting their drive for the push in the final stretch of the regular season. A dominant performance secured game one early while some quick adjustments and sights set on the win grabbed Vanguard the win in game two, ultimately securing the sweep. Emily Hall, who hit the game-winning bunt in game two, said she wanted to score the runner and was confident she could do so with a perfectly executed bunt. The wins improve the Lions to 37-6 overall. Hall said the record has been a great fuel to the fire. "The wins are pretty awesome because we have a good record. It's really nice to get these wins under our belts as we head into the end of the season to hopefully motivate us to finish strong," Hall said.
