INDIANAPOLIS – University of Findlay and Trevecca Nazarene University athletes were awarded Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors as announced on Monday. Findlay Oiler Madison Arnold and Trevecca Trojan Savannah Carr were selected to the awards respectively.
Lingering winter weather has still affected a handful of team schedules as the Great Midwest contenders are starting to emerge.
Findlay is unbeaten at 6-0 while Cedarville also has a perfect game in four fewer contests played at 2-0. Trevecca stands at 6-2 and Hillsdale is holding strong at 4-2.

Carr was dominant in the circle with a clean sheet in the win-loss column with four winning decisions in the past week.
The Trojans faced three conference opponents, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lake Erie and Ursuline, and Carr beat each one of them with her arm. TNU improved to 19-7-1 overall.
In four appearances (two starts), Carr was 4-0 with a sterling 0.41 ERA in 17 innings pitched. She tossed a three-hit shutout against Ursuline to finish up the week.
She earned wins in the box score with two scoreless relief innings in an 8-6 win against Kentucky Wesleyan and three more scoreless frames against Lake Erie in a 9-6 TNU victory.
Her recent stretch wasn't just a blip on the radar this spring. She has been progressively dominant as the Trojans get deeper into the conference schedule.
In her last 13 appearances, the junior hurler is 9-0 with a 0.56 ERA. In those 49.2 innings, she has allowed just four earned runs while racking up 28 strikeouts.
Carr has emerged as the league leader in ERA at 1.39 as she improved her overall record to 9-1 in 14 games this spring.
