[Softball] Tigers Open Conference Play at Fontbonne

St. Louis, MO - March 21, 2018 - Iowa Wesleyan began conference play this afternoon against the Griffins of Fontbonne University.  After having a tough spring break, the Tigers were looking to turn things around with the start of SLIAC play.  IW led early in the first game, but were unable to maintain the lead and suffered a 1-3 loss. They followed with a 3-19 loss in the final game of the day.

The Tigers were able to get an early lead in the opening game of the double-header.  Serena Almodovar (FR/Romeoville, IL) singled to the pitcher with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch to get the offense going for IW.  Jena Miller (SR/Monmouth, IL) came through with a single through the right side to drive in Almodovar for the Tigers first run.
