CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University has swept Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors courtesy of the performances of Christina Pembrook (Naperville, Ill.) and Ashley Yattoni (Bettendorf, Iowa) during the week of March 12-18, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Pembrook, a junior center fielder, was named the CCAC Player of the Week after batting .500 in a week's worth of competition facing the majority of ranked clubs. St. Ambrose swept a doubleheader from both NAIA No. 13-ranked Brenau University (Ga.) and Reinhardt University (Ga.) - among others receiving votes in the latest poll – on its way to a 5-1 week.

Pembrook collected a total of 10 hits in 20 at bats over six games with five doubles and six runs scored. She also drove in four runs and earned one win on the mound, working five innings of relief in a 4-2 second-game win over Reinhardt on Thursday.

In that same game, Pembrook also delivered at the plate going 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs scored and a run batted in. It was one of two games that she totaled three hits and one of three where she registered multiple hits.

Yattoni, the CCAC Pitcher of the Week, also delivered on the mound and at the plate going 3-0 as a hurler and hitting .444 (4-for-9). The senior posted two of her wins against Brenau and Reinhardt and did not allow a run over five innings of work in the 5-0 victory against Brenau on Wednesday.

St. Ambrose's 5-1 week puts the Fighting Bees at 12-6 on the campaign.
