[Softball] Tigers beat RV Thomas, No. 5 Brenau Saturday
Georgetown College softball started day two off right at the NAIA Leadoff Classic with a 5-0 win against Thomas University. Later falling to the University of South Carolina-Beaufort 3-2, but that did not hold them back from taking the win in a nail biter against No. 5 Brenau University 4-3 in the conclusion.
The Tigers (12-5) were set to play BU Sunday, but the threat of rain made the two teams play three games in Columbus, Ga.
Hannah Morton had nine strike outs, and threw a no hitter against Thomas University until the bottom of the seventh when a shot was hit through the hole at short. There were no defensive errors. Kara Howard led the team with a three-run homer in the top of the fourth followed by Katie Young starting the top of the fifth with a double.
