[Softball] Softball takes its lumps but defeats Doane on Day 1 of Friends Tourney
WICHITA, Kan. - The Bethel softball team competed in the two-day Friends tournament, hosted by Friends University at the Two Rivers Youth Club in Wichita. The Threshers were given a full slate of competition, beginning with their first three games on Friday. Opening against 25th ranked University of Science and Arts, Bethel's four-game winning streak was shut down 11-2. The Threshers came back strong in their next game against Mount Mercy. Bethel held leads of 8-1 and 12-6 at points against the Mustangs, but couldn't keep them corraled in what turned into a 15-12 loss. The final game of the day was against Doane University, where the Threshers had everything clicking. Led by Katie Schrag (SR/Haven, Kan.) going 4-4 at the plate with a homer, Bethel defeated the Tigers 12-8.
