[Softball] Trevecca Softball | Trojan Bailey Alexander Named TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca University's Bailey Alexander and Carson-Newman's Lacie Rinus were named the Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Tuesday for their performances for February 12-18.

Alexander batted .538 (7-for-13) in four games for the Trojans against Black Hills State with two home runs, 11 RBIs and eight runs scored. The Glasgow, Ky., native hit a grand slam and a three-run homer, all in the same inning, in the first game of the series against the Yellow Jackets, part of an 11-run inning for TNU. The junior infielder walked and scored in the second game of the doubleheader.

She was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored three days later versus BHSU, including an RBI single and a two-run base hit. Alexander had one RBI in the final contest against Black Hills State. She is batting .481 with 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored through eight games this season.
